The Chair of Health Literacy is pleased to share that our student assistant, Clara Buschmann, successfully completed a research internship at the Sydney Health Literacy Lab from June to August 2025. As part of her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Clara worked under the supervision of Professor Kirsten McCaffery at the University of Sydney.
During her stay, Clara contributed to several research projects on health literacy, women’s health, cancer prevention, overdiagnosis and overtreatment, as well as social media and knowledge translation. She gained valuable hands-on experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including work on a systematic review and a content analysis.
Clara’s time at the Sydney Health Literacy Lab was marked by intensive academic learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and enriching insights into international research processes. The internship allowed her to deepen her methodological expertise and build meaningful professional connections - a significant step in her academic and professional development.
