The 11th International Outdoor Education Research Conference
From June 22nd to 26th, 2026, the 11th International Outdoor Education Research Conference took place at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo.
In total, around 350 participants from around the world shared ideas, discussed current topics, and connected with one another during the five days in Oslo. Our team was represented by Anna Brandmeier, Melissa Börner, and Theres Mühlberg. Anna presented first preliminary results on the physical activity of teachers in EOtC teaching in her talk “Education outside the classroom as an occupational resource: associations with teachers’ wellbeing”, Theres talk was about the question “Do teachers teach differently in EOtC teaching?” from her observational study comparing teaching inside and outside the classroom. Melissa shared a scientific poster presenting her ideas on nature connectedness and well-being.
The interdisciplinary conference brought together experts from public health, sustainability, and educational research, as well as other fields. It provided wonderful opportunities to connect and build on both existing and new professional relationships.
We would like to thank the organizational team for a truly inspiring event and look forward to continuing our work in the field of Education Outside the Classroom.
