Our analysis showed a significant effect of stance width on almost all frequency- und time-based parameters with greater effect on the medio-lateral dimension. Interestingly, the results obtained with self-selected stance width were comparable to standardized stance widths of 20 and 30 cm. Additionally, self-selected stance showed a positive correlation with individual anthropometric values. The already existing recommendation (Krewer et al. 2018) of self-selected stance width in posturography for young participants can be transferred to healthy older individuals. This reflects a naturally selected and standardized foot position, which additionally considers the individual body composition.
