Prof. Dr. Renate Oberhoffer-Fritz, Dean of the Department of Sport and Health Sciences and head of the Chair of Preventive Pediatrics, has now been honored by FOCUS-GESUNDHEIT as a "Top Physician 2021" in the field of Cardiological Sports Medicine.
"I am very pleased to be honored with the Top Physician 2021 seal," said Prof. Oberhoffer-Fritz. "This award is a confirmation of the excellent work of the entire team of our pediatric and youth sports medicine outpatient clinic. Whether junior athletes or chronically ill patients - the individual needs of the children and adolescents seeking advice are our top priority. It's great to see that this has met with such a good response."
The research of the data editors includes all of the 400,000 physicians and clinicians working in Germany who fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- Authorization for further training
- Habilitation (academic degree)
- Chief physician, director or other leading function in a hospital
- Leading role or designated specialist of a relevant medical society
- Already awarded as FOCUS top physician
For the current survey, 75,000 physicians nationwide met these criteria. In the end, around 17,000 doctors were recommended by FOCUS. For this purpose, 52 medical experts were consulted, and 59 different data sources were included in the survey. Research and evaluation took a total of twelve months. In the end, 4,242 physicians from 123 specialties were awarded the seal of approval as "Top Physicians 2021".
