Lecture on the creation of scientifically based training plans
Under the title "Science, Hype or Bullshit?", Prof. Wackerhage will talk about the quality and reliability of training information from the Internet and explain how to use it for your own training planning. "I am looking forward to the exchange with dedicated trainers in order for them to learn how to evaluate the quality of training information, which helps with training planning," says Prof. Wackerhage with regard to the event.
Ideas for digitizing fun sports activities
"In a recently published study, we were able to show that physically fit elementary school children are better able to concentrate at school. This result shows once again how important it is to integrate sports into the everyday lives of children and adolescents," said Prof. Dr. Renate Oberhoffer-Fritz, Dean of the Department and head of the Chair of Preventive Pediatrics. However, as the Corona pandemic lockdowns showed, children can't always show up on-site for training - and digital alternatives are needed.
Dr. Nicola Stöcker and Dr. Christina Sitzberger from the Chair of Preventive Pediatrics are therefore bringing physical training into a virtual world. In their workshop "Be digital - Become a digital trainer and try out the virtual world as a participant child", they use the example of "kidsTUMove" to explain which games and exercises on exercise, moving nutrition and moving environment can also be implemented asynchronously. "Even during the pandemic, we wanted to enable the participants in our kidsTUMove sports group to have weekly sessions. However, digital approaches had hardly existed so far, which is why we developed and implemented our own ideas without further ado," Dr. Sitzberger reports on the birth of the approaches. "Of course, there were a few stumbling blocks in the beginning." To ensure that the trainers feel confident with digital sports and games, a practical session is also part of their workshop.
