From the 11th to the 15th March the 8th International congress on Science and Skiing took place in Vuokatti (Finland).
The ICSS congress is the main in the field of skiing Biomechanics and this year, our department participated with two oral presentations held by Veronica Bessone and Florian Paternoster. Veronica presented the topic Torso and hip flexions influence ski jump landing impact", while Florian had a talk on "Biomechanical analysis of G3 skating technique on a treadmill of world-class and national-elite female biathletes". Together with the Biomechanics in Sports group there were also the colleagues Matthias Olvermann and Maren Goll from the Applied Sport Science department, as well as Andreas Huber from the Bavarian Olympic Training Center, with which our department collaborates.
