At this year’s ESC Preventive Cardiology Congress 2025, held in Milan from April 3 to 5, Prof. Dr. Martin Halle, head of the Chair of Preventive Sports Medicine and Sports Cardiology, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC).
With this prestigious recognition, the EAPC acknowledges Prof. Halle’s outstanding dedication and his many years of pioneering work in the field of preventive cardiology. Together with Prof. Dr. Antonio Pelliccia (Chief of Cardiology at the Institute of Sports Medicine and Science, Rome), Prof. Halle received the award for his significant contributions to the advancement of the scientific society, which he led as president from 2020 to 2022.
“Of course, this is a great honor and I’m very pleased to receive this award! The EAPC feels like a big family to me, where I have the privilege of working with many international experts to advance heart health across Europe,” said Prof. Halle.
ESC Preventive Cardiology 2025 – “Risk factor realities in 2025”
As a central platform of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology, the ESC Preventive Cardiology Congress brings together leading experts from around the world each year to discuss the latest scientific findings and innovative approaches in preventive cardiology.
Under the theme “Risk factor realities in 2025,” this year’s congress focused on current and future challenges in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Modern technologies and therapies today enable longer and healthier lives – but they also raise new demands for effective medical care and risk management.
