In teaching, the Associate Professorship of Exercise Biology covers all the topics in exercise physiology, e.g. skeletal muscle function, physiological aspects of resistance and endurance exercise, performance testing, and cardiovascular exercise physiology. Furthermore, the classical physiology will be completed with modern molecular exercise physiology dealing with molecular pathways and signal transduction in skeletal muscle as well as genetic aspects of sports, exercise, health and doping. To understand the biochemical principles of exercise also issues of enzymes, thermodynamics, calorimetry, and energy producing processes will be included into teaching.
