What comes after university? The final exams are over, the degree is in hand—and suddenly the big questions about the future arise: Should I enter the workforce directly? Pursue a master’s degree? Or maybe take some time off to travel? Every year, around 400 students complete their degree in sport or health sciences at TUM. Many of them are faced with exactly these questions. To provide orientation and highlight future career paths, the third Career Day took place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at TUM Campus at the Olympic Park.
“The Career Day—just like the mandatory internship semester—offers students a valuable opportunity to make initial professional connections and build a career network during their studies,” says Dr. Till Lorenzen, Managing Director of the TUM School of Medicine and Health. “I strongly encourage all students to explore the various professional fields and potential employers early on. Those who start building connections during their studies often find it easier to enter the job market. That’s why practical experiences gained at Career Day and during internships are so important.”
Under the theme “Opening Up Perspectives Together – for Life After Graduation”, the Career Day gave interested students the chance to engage in conversations with potential employers and learn about a wide range of career opportunities. Around 30 organizations from various sectors were on site to answer questions and provide insights into their fields of work.
The following companies and organizations took part in the career fair: B2Sports / BFV Service GmbH, the Bavarian Society for Mental Health, the Bavarian Handball Association, the Bavarian State Office for Schools (Department for School Sports), the Bavarian Red Cross, Biphit, body + soul, the Center for Global Health, ESV München e.V., ICAROS, Kinderhaus München, Köhn & Kollegen, the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority, Mavie Work Deutschland GmbH, Movement24 GmbH, MTV München, the Bavarian Olympic Training Center, the Children’s Health Foundation, ZAR Bayern GmbH, and the Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine (ZFOS). Additional guidance was provided by the Munich University Team of the Federal Employment Agency, as well as TUM Career Service, TUM Sport and Health for Life, TUM ForTe (Entrepreneurship), TUM Language Center, and the student advisory service.
In addition to the exhibition booths, which facilitated direct interaction with potential employers, several representatives held short keynote talks offering insights into various professions and career paths.
The event was organized by the student advisory service team. “We are very pleased with the positive feedback on the third Career Day,” says Valérie Lechevallier, student advisor for the bachelor’s and master’s programs. “It shows that we are building a format that fosters meaningful dialogue between students and potential employers. We’re already looking forward to the fourth edition in 2026.”
