The Associate Professorship of Didactics in Sport and Health and the Occupational Medicine Institute for Schools of the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority are inviting you to the Expert and Networking Conference 2024. The event will take place on October 9, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the TUM Campus at the Olympic Park . Under the title “Healthy Teachers in a Healthy School,” the organizers aim to raise awareness among participants about teacher health.
The conference is organized by Prof. Dr. Filip Mess, Head of the Associate Professorship of Didactics in Sport and Health, and Dr. Jan Ellinger. Participation is free of charge, and registration is open until September 20, 2024. See the registration link below.
“The uniqueness of this conference lies in the fact that we have succeeded in attracting renowned experts in teacher health for keynote speeches and workshops. Additionally, we are bringing together numerous stakeholders from across Bavaria in this field for the first time, and all at our campus, which is known for promoting health and prevention,” said Prof. Mess.
The focus of the event will be on scientific input, theoretical practice transfer, deepening specific topics in the field of teacher health, and networking with professionals from different disciplines. The organizers will offer not only keynote speeches but also a variety of workshops. Additionally, TUM professors Prof. Dr. Heidrun Thaiss and Prof. Dr. Orkan Okan will participate.

During the Expert and Networking Conference, five different workshops will be offered:
Risk Assessment of Mental Strain – From Assessing Working Conditions to Implementing Practical Measures (AMIS-Bavaria)
Vocal Health in the Teaching Profession: An App for Vocal Health for Bavarian Teacher (ReSt Regensburg Voice Training, University of Regensburg)
Teacher Health as a Topic in the "Good Healthy School" Bavaria – Insights and Impulses from the State Program (“Good Healthy School,” Bavarian Center for Prevention and Health Promotion)
Perspectives on Digitalization in Teacher Health and School Counseling (State School Counseling Office for the City and District of Munich)
Collaboratively Strengthening Teacher Health: Opportunities and Limits (BaLKo, TUM)
In addition, there will be a “Meet and Great” and a tour of the new TUM Campus at the Olympic Park. The event will conclude with a final plenary session. “We hope that our specialist day can contribute to better networking of as many stakeholders as possible in the field of teacher health in Bavaria. Only in this way will it be possible to truly make a difference in practice in the future”, adds Dr. Jan Ellinger.
