Description
The department of Biomechanics in Sports, in collaboration with the institute of Flight System Dynamics, is currently developing a ski jumping simulation (IGSSE project “SkOPTing”). The goal is creating a tool usable by coaches and athletes for improving flying technique and performance.
In order to obtain a simulation closer to the reality, a high number of variables collected on the field (kinetic and kinematic variables) and indoor (body scanning) has to be included.
Work packages
- Data collection of athletes’ anthropometrical measurements using 3D body scanner and force plate
- Data collection on the ski jumping hill (force insole, EMG…)
- Data processing
Prerequisites
- Interest in interdisciplinary work and in performance analysis
- Knowledge of data collection procedure
- Use of Microsoft Office package
- Time flexibility
Hours per week: 8/10 hours per week
