Stefanie Pechar is a research associate at the Professorship of Public Health and Prevention since July 2023 and a Doctoral Candidate at the TUM School of Medicine and Health. Before joining the team, she obtained a MSc in Development Economics from the University of Göttingen and a BSc in Economics from the University of Mannheim. During her Master’s studies, she worked as a research assistant and intern at the Professorship of Development Economics, the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health and the GIGA Institute for African Affairs.
Her research examines how institutional reforms and political representation shape public policies related to reproductive health, fertility, and women’s economic outcomes in low- and middle-income countries.
