For 30 years now, the "Zeitschrift für Sportpsychologie" has enriched sports science in Germany and is certainly one of its most renowned journals. It is the organ of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Sportpsychologie (asp) and the organ of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie (DGPs). Recently, issue 4, the last issue of the 29th year, was published - also the last issue under the management of Felix Ehrlenspiel from the AG Sportpsychologie. After four years, he handed over the reins in January to Prof. Daniel Memmert from the German Sport University Cologne. "In the last four years that I have been managing editor, we have made some important decisions in the team of editors that will secure the future of the Journal of Sport Psychology," says Felix Ehrlenspiel, mentioning in particular the opening of the journal to English-language contributions. The expectation is that this will make research from the German-speaking world, in which the journal will probably continue to be predominantly perceived, more visible internationally and, above all, citable. "But we have also done a lot to integrate applied sport psychology, for which the journal should also (again) be a platform."
The end of the management also marks the end of Simon Blaschke's (Sport and Health Didactics) and Lisa Hepperle's (AG Sportpsychologie) work on the editorial board. "They both did a great job reviewing the submitted contributions and preparing the issues," Felix Ehrlenspiel thanks them both. With the help of the experience gained in the editorial work, Felix Ehrlenspiel hopes that the two will soon enrich the Journal of Sport Psychology with their own contributions and contribute to its reputation.
