Personal details
Chronic stress is detrimental to both physical and mental health. One solution to chronic stress is relaxation and recovery. My research aims to explain the psychophysiology of relaxation and recovery, leverage these insights to personalize and optimize relaxation protocols, and empower individuals with evidence-based practices to strengthen stress resilience. In my own life, I experience firsthand how stressful triathlon training demands an equal commitment to recovery. Through my yoga practice, I have experienced the profound impact of deep relaxation—often achieved through the breath. These experiences fuel my scientific focus on breath-based interventions, such as breathing protocols and breathing meditation, to strengthen stress resilience.
