Karsten Köhler, Lewis Halsey and José Areta have recently published an article titled "Does eating less or exercising more to reduce energy availability produce distinct metabolic responses?" in the Journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B.
The narrative review examines how the human metabolism responds to energy deficits created through diet or exercise, exploring potential differences in these reactions. While some aspects show similar responses, tissue-specific differences exist between the two approaches.
The publication is based on a presentation by Lewis Halsey at the scientific discussion meeting "Causes of obesity: theories, conjectures and evidence".
