The Associate Professorship of Exercise, Nutrition, and Health congratulates Dr. Christoph Hoechsmann on his successful habilitation. With this outstanding achievement, Dr. Höchsmann reaches an important milestone in his academic career, recognizing his expertise and dedication to research and teaching.
Dr. Hoechsmann has been working at the Assistant Professorship since November 2021. His research interests focus on addressing physical inactivity and unhealthy eating behavior through individualized, technology-based, and behavior-focused lifestyle interventions. Additionally, he investigates the relationship between physical activity and energy intake, as well as their combined and individual effects on energy balance, metabolism, and health.
As part of his habilitation research, Dr. Hoechsmann has primarily examined three research questions: 1) the factors influencing weight loss and energy balance in lifestyle interventions, 2) technology-supported methods for assessing and monitoring food intake, and 3) the health impacts of large-scale lifestyle interventions. The habilitation thesis includes 14 publications and is available via the TUM library.
"As his supervisor, but also as a colleague and friend, I would like to congratulate Christoph on this important milestone in his academic career. This habilitation is not only a recognition of his excellent research but also reflects his outstanding achievements in university teaching over the past years.", explains Prof. Dr. Koehler.
Over the past years, Dr. Hoechsmann has gained national and international recognition for his innovative research approaches and numerous publications. His work exemplifies interdisciplinary research at the intersection of exercise, nutrition, and health.
We congratulate Dr. Hoechsmann on this significant milestone and wish him continued success in his academic career!
