Katie Rainsberger hails from Colorado Springs, USA, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Evolutionary Biology from the University of Washington as well as a Master’s degree in Applied Physiology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In her previous research, she focused on the interplay between energy availability, hormonal status, and recovery in exercising women.
As part of her doctoral studies at the Technical University of Munich, she will continue to explore this field. Her research will investigate how different energy interventions influence recovery following endurance exercise - particularly in women with a natural menstrual cycle and those using hormonal contraceptives. The aim is to generate new insights for sports science practice and to promote women’s health.
As a 13-time All-American in collegiate sports and a former professional steeplechaser, Katie also brings valuable athletic experience to our team. She is particularly passionate about supporting young female athletes and preventing energy deficiencies in sport (REDs/LEA).
We are excited to welcome Katie to our team!
