Context-related withdrawal treatment for addiction rehabilitation patients with and without accompanying children to sustainably ensure rehab success
The federally funded model project KontextSucht deals with substance-dependent parents in inpatient rehabilitation with and without accompanying children as part of the model project rehapro. For this purpose, a new intervention is being developed by two intervention clinics. The background is the problem that substance-dependent parents experience special and addiction-specific challenges in dealing with their children due to the direct and indirect effects of their disease. It is assumed that these substance-related challenges lead to a reduction in the parents' likelihood of abstinence after their treatment, unless the issue of family and children can be adequately addressed during treatment. Using this approach, KontextSucht seeks to strengthen parent-child specific skills to reduce consequential risks for parents and children. The KontextSucht Begleitstudie (KSB) for the project is conducted by TUM and consists of a feasibility study as well as a benefit assessment of the intervention. In each case, this research project will be conducted using a mixed-methods approach. The goal is to make precise statements about the benefits and potential improvements of the new intervention. The study is financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) for the period from 01.07.2022 to 31.10.2026.
