This year's Young Scientists' Conference of the Association for Sport Psychology (asp) took place at the Institute for Sport and Movement Science at the University of Stuttgart and offered an inspiring platform for more than 30 young scientists from German-speaking countries to exchange ideas and learn from each other. The programme was very diverse and packed with exciting activities and content.
Five mentors from different areas of research and teaching were on hand to support the participants with their expertise and experience - Prof'in. Dr. Sabine Schäfer-Cerasari, Dr. Geoffrey Schweizer, Jun.-Prof'in Dr. Cornelia Frank, Prof. Dr. Darko Jekauc and Prof'in. Dr. Nadja Schott. The young researchers were able to present their research projects in small working groups in a protected setting. The mentors and other group members were available for questions, discussions and suggestions.
In addition, there were exciting keynotes on the topics of "Beautiful Failure" and "Constructivism" as well as "Philosophy of Science and Methodological Considerations for Testing Interaction Hypotheses", which stimulated intensive discussions among the audience.
In addition to the scientific exchange, the conference also offered participants the opportunity to explore the city. Not only during a "Stäffele" walk, but also at dinner in a traditional restaurant, everyone was able to gain diverse experiences with Swabian culture. Another highlight was the barbecue evening on the grounds of the Sportuni, which even cold temperatures did not harm. With a cheerful atmosphere, fine food and local Wulle beer, stimulating conversations were held and new friendships were made.
We went home with many new insights, inspiration and valuable contacts and are already looking forward to seeing the other PhD students again next year in Berlin.
