CaRe∙source
Shaping long-term care, promoting health, empowering people
The project “CaRe∙source” has the aim to "make the living and working environment of nursing homes healthier and more enjoyable". CaRe∙source is a model project and is conducted against the background of the guidelines for prevention in long-term care facilities (according to § 5 SGB XI) and the Care Strengthening Act.
Currently, 80% of residents in German long-term care facilities are living with dementia. However, evidence-based measures and strategies for health promotion for this special target group are hardly available. This project addresses this situation and places a special focus on people with dementia. By using resource-oriented and participatory approaches, behavioral and relationship-oriented measures to strengthen cognitive, physical and psychosocial resources will be developed, implemented and evaluated in six care facilities in South Germany.
Simultaneously, employee health is addressed with the aim of empowering caregivers to reduce their stress and promote health resources. Here, the focus is on strengthening health-promoting structures in order to make the working environment of nursing homes healthier and more enjoyable.
In the sense of a transdisciplinary approach, all groups of people involved in the nursing home setting contribute experience, knowledge and value orientation. This ensures not only scientific quality but also the practical orientation of the measures. Finally, the participants develop a concept based on the project results in order to sustainably anchor the measures in everyday nursing home life.
The project will run until 2023 and is supported by the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK).
