Short Summary
In the second funding period of HLCA, Tool-HLCA focuses on how health literacy of children and adolescents people can be promoted in Germany. Core elements are (a) to conduct a systematic review of existing programmes and strategies, (b) to develop an evaluation tool to assess the quality of interventions and (c) to develop a toolbox to promote health literacy. The main target group includes school-aged children and teachers.
The project goals comprise:
- an inventory and evaluation of available health literacy programmes and strategies for children and adolescents
- the development of validated criteria for evaluating and assessing the quality of the programmes
- the development and testing of a toolbox for strengthening health literacy among children and adolescents.
