Project Studies
The goal of project studies is that students gain experience in project management. Students work on a specific topic that is of practical relevance and/or scientific interest. Both profit- and non-profit organizations collaborate with us in project studies.
Guidelines
1. Duration
Four months (the duration can also vary between 3 and 6 months).
2. Procedure
A team (between 2 and 5 students) works on the project. The project study starts with setting an outline of the project. To do this, students get in touch with the research or practice partner in a first kick-off meeting. Both the chair and the project partner will coach students. Before students begin with the empirical part of the project study, as well as at the end of the project, the group presents their plans and results, respectively. The project ends by submitting the written project report.
3. Project report
The structure, content and length of the report depend on the topic and will be determined in the kick-off meeting. Further details about the layout of the project report can be found here, as well as in the guidelines about how to write a thesis at the chair. Two printed copies of the report have to be submitted to the chair until a pre-determined deadline. Besides the printed versions, all documents (documentation of project process, project report, all other relevant data) have to be submitted to the chair in an electronic version.
4. Grading
The final grade reflects the performance of the midterm presentation, the final presentation, and the project report. The weighting of the grades will be announced in the first kick-off meeting.
5. Application and registration
Please apply via e-mail at the secretary of the chair. All applications should include a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, transcript, and certificates. If we confirm that you can work on the project, the project study has to be registered with the chairman of the audit committee. Please use the following application form for your registration.
