Dr. Rebecca Kisch née Pfitzner
Professional career
Rebecca Kisch graduated in Health Sciences (B.Sc.) from HAW Hamburg and completed her master's degree in Public Health (M.Sc.) at the University of Bielefeld. Rebecca Kisch wrote her master's thesis in cooperation with the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich (Epidemiology). During her studies, she spent seven weeks at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi (India) and four months at Deakin University in Melbourne (Australia). Since January 2013, Rebecca Kisch has been PhD student at the Chair of Sport and Health Management. In 2014, she was visiting researcher at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. In July 2016 Rebecca Kisch completed successfully her dissertation entitled "The impact of mega-sport events on host residents' quality of life".
Research interests
Rebecca Kisch’s research lies at the interface between the areas of public health, as well as sport and health management. A specific focus is on the impact of mega events in sport, such as the Olympic Games, from the public health perspective. Besides the economic aspects, the main focus is on the health and social benefits of the Olympic Games of the host population. Furthermore, Rebecca Kisch investigates current aspects of occupational health management and of sponsorship-linked marketing, implemented within the framework of mega sports events.
