The annual conference is hosted alternately by the universities where the members of the group do their research and teach. This year, the Chair of Sport and Health Management under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jörg Königstorfer was the organizing chair.
What role do social media and advertising play in our purchasing decision? How does the social environment influence us when shopping? Questions such as these were in the focus of the conference. In addition to new findings on consumer behavior, new methodological developments were discussed. For example, the talks at the conference dealt with topics such as the influence of digital devices on online recommendations and unintended effects of digital nudging. A mobile eye-tracking study of attention to advertisements in real-life media encounters and the chances and risks of virtual models in advertising were further exciting lecture topics on which the participants exchanged ideas.
In addition to the scientific discussion, there was enough time for social interaction at the conference. For example, the doctoral candidates of the Chair of Sport and Health Management offered a guided tour through the new building of the faculty on the campus in the Olympic Park. In the evening, a journey through Munich's consumer behavior was exemplary put into practice. The arrival of the Wiesnwirte on Saturday morning marked the end of the conference.
