Dr. Lennart Pape
Professional career
Lennart Pape graduated (Sport Management, B.A.) from FH Ostfalia in Salzgitter. He obtained his master’s degree in Strategic Management (M.Sc.) at the University Innsbruck in Austria. Lennart is an active soccer player as well as a passionate hiker und skier. From September 2019 until July 2023, Lennart Pape has been a PhD student at the Chair of Sport and Health Management. In January 2024, he finished his PhD thesis, entitled "The promotion of plant-based diets among sport fans".
Research interests
In his research, Lennart Pape focuses on change processes in (not-for-profit) sport organization and how they can manage change for sustainable development. He places a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable change processes and the influence of the digitization on the performance of sport organization. Further research interests include how clubs can use innovative approaches to find and bind members and make followers act more sustainably.
