How can universities attract, support, and retain talent in the long term while putting health, diversity, and inclusion at the center? These and other questions around the theme “The Role of Talent Management and Diversity for Healthy Universities” will be addressed by leading health experts at the fourth edition of the Future of Health Summit 2025. The event will take place on October 9, 2025, at the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Stiftung Foundation (Southern Palace Rondell, Nymphenburg Palace) – both in person and via livestream.
“Talent management and diversity are indispensable for modern universities to recruit and retain professionals. This is especially true at a school like ours, which must also meet clinical demands,” explains Prof. Dr. Stephanie Combs, Dean of TUM School of Medicine and Health. “TUM has long recognized the importance of this topic and appointed Vice Deans at each of its Schools to strengthen this field. I am particularly pleased that our School is giving this issue more visibility within the framework of the Summit.”
The event will focus on the opportunities and challenges arising from digitalization, the shortage of skilled professionals, and global competition. Experts from academia, business, and politics will discuss how diversity-oriented talent management can help shape healthy, inclusive, and future-ready work and learning cultures. The Summit is held under the patronage of Bavarian State Minister of Health, Care and Prevention Judith Gerlach.
Prof. Dr. Renate Oberhoffer, Vice Dean Talent Management & Diversity at TUM School of Medicine and Health, adds: “I am delighted that the ‘Future of Health’ Summit is now taking place for the fourth time and that we may be guests at the Siemens Foundation. Talent management and diversity affect not only universities but also industry and business, which will be represented here as well. From our School and TUM, we will present a special initiative at the conclusion: the TUM House of Health.”
The full-day program covers a wide range of topics, from the importance of good working conditions to gender-specific prevention and talent management in companies that promotes health. Additional sessions will address addiction prevention in organizations as well as international perspectives on diversity and health promotion.
The Summit aims to strengthen interdisciplinary exchange: strategies from different scientific fields and sectors will be brought together, critically discussed, and further developed for future application. The event thus creates a forum that not only generates new impulses but also intensifies dialogue between academic institutions, industry, and politics.
The event is aimed equally at professionals, students, and early-career researchers interested in current issues of human resources development, diversity, and health. Participants will gain insights into the latest research findings and best-practice examples from international experts – and take away ideas for the sustainable development of talent.
Registration is open until September 22 via the following link. Doctoral students can receive up to 5 CP for full-day participation:
