Biomechanical aspects of (professional) sport, the medical field of preventive and rehabilitative sport; research on muscle-mechanics.
Epidemiology
Prevention of chronic diseases; prevention of cancer; cancer epidemiology; human papillomavirus (HPV); epidemiological and statistical methods; systematic literature reviews and meta-analysis; analyses of cancer registry data and secondary data; conduct of population-based studies.
Management of suppliers in sport and health-care markets
Demand for sports products and services; individual decisive-behaviour with regard to health-promoting lifestyles of consumers; identification of Win-Win situations in which entrepreneurial success and the promotion of health & physical activity complement one another; sport sponsoring, sport-fan and spectator-behaviour.
Media and communications
In research and teaching, the department deals with all topics related to the subject area "communication". This includes centrally the research on communicators, media, content, audience and effects. Further topics include sports PR, sports sponsoring and communication management.
Sport-physiology, child-cardiology, doping prevention
Prevention in children and juveniles, preventive/ rehabilitative aspects of sport associated with cancerous illnesses, doping analytics, health-oriented and -physiological aspects of nutritional supplements on performance.
Sport-psychology, actions and moving
Initial sport-psychological diagnostics, motivation, mental training forms, brain and learning: How does the brain regulate movements? Influence of movement on the development of the brain, athletic and intellectual performance.
Sport games mediation, teaching and learning
Genetic aspects of learning and teaching, interplay of (more visual) perception and movement in athletic movement/action activities.
Sport and movement-paedagogy
Anthropological basics of movement/sport, didactics of forms of movement and of games, cooperative forms of learning in sports, development of sport and movement forms with people suffering from autism, gender research, innovative forms of outdoor education, experiential-paedagogy in the training of teachers.
