To increase the proportion of women in science and academia, gender equality measures need to be implemented.
To this end, initial measures were developed as part of the diversity objective agreement, in particular to promote equal opportunities in the postdoc phase. The aim is to motivate young women scientists and researchers to continue to pursue a career in science/academia after they have earned their doctorate.
The department offers systematic, individual advising, assistance and support for women pursuing a career in science/academia. Based on a needs assessment, the goal is to provide young women scientists and researchers with targeted and needs-based support. Various types of funding should be used for this purpose.
Furthermore, the department supports qualified young women scientists and researchers financially, so that they can participate in high-profile scientific and academic conferences and symposia.
