Bavarian National Library Munich
The Bavarian National Library is one of the most important European universal libraries and enjoys a top world position as an international research library. Along with the National Library in Berlin and the German National Libraries in Frankfurt and Leipzig, it forms Germany's virtual national library. It is the central federal state and archive library of the Republic of Bavaria. With just under 10 million volumes, around 50,000 current magazines in printed and electronic form, and over 90,000 manuscripts, the Bavarian National Library is one of the most important knowledge centers of the world. Year for year, approximately 150,000 additional volumes are added which are selected and made available systematically according to scientific criteria.
