Dear Munich Muscle Researchers and others,
it's a pleasure to inform you about the next Munich Muscle Meeting. It will take place in person on Thursday October 19th from 4:00 until 6:00 pm. The meeting will be organized by Henning Wackerhage and Martin Schönfelder (TUM; Exercise Biology). We are very happy to have a keynote presentation from Dr. Maria Rohm. Maria is a group leader at the Institute for Diabetes and Cancer at Helmholtz Center of Munich. Her research addresses the role of tissue crosstalk in the metabolic diseases, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and cancer cachexia.
We are looking forward to see you in precence at the TUM Campus Olympic Park. Here, you will find the program flyer.
Best wishes,
Henning Wackerhage & Martin Schönfelder
Dear Munich Muscle Researchers and others,

The meeting will be organized by Maxi Saller (Muskuloskelettales Universitätszentrum München; LMU) and Ken Dyar (Hemholtz Center Munich). Again, we can presnet one keynote speaker, who has agreed to present her latest results:
- Kevin Murach, University of Arkansas “Mediators of Youthfulness in Skeletal Muscle”
We are looking forward to see you in precence at the LMU in the St Vinzenz Haus, see here. The final program you will find here.
Best wishes,
Maxi Saller, Ken Dyar, & Henning Wackerhage
Dear Munich Muscle Researchers and others,

The meeting will be organized by Maria Spletter at the Biomedical Center in Martinsried. Again, we can presnet one keynote speaker, who has agreed to present her latest results:
- Karyn Esser from the University of Florida will talk about: "The muscle clock and exercise; transcriptional partners?"
We are looking forward to see you in precence at the BMC or via zoom at the end of June. At detailed describtion of the program you will fine in the programme flyer.
Please register here for the meeting.
Best wishes,
Maria Spletter, Martin Schönfelder & Henning Wackerhage
Dear Munich Muscle Researchers and others,
it's a pleasure to inform you about the next Munich Muscle Meeting. It will take place on Thursday November 25th from 4 until 6 pm. The meeting will be organized by Henning Wackerhage and Martin Schönfelder.

Dear Munich Muscle Researchers and others,
it's a pleasure to inform you about the next Munich Muscle Meeting. It will take place on Thursday April 29th from 4 until 6 pm. The meeting will be organized by Stephan Kröger. Two internationally renowned speakers have agreed to present their latest results:
- Markus Ruegg from the Biocenter in Basel will talk about: "Mechanistic insights into the loss of muscle mass and function at high age"
- Carmen Birchmeier from the Max Delbrueck Center in Berlin will talk about: " An oscillatory network regulating self-renewal of muscle stem cells"
Anyone interested in giving a short (10 min) presentation, please contact: skroeger(at)lmu.de
We are looking forward to seeing you in April. The whole program you will find in our flyer.
Best wishes,
Stephan Kröger, Martin Schönfelder & Henning Wackerhage
Dear Munich Muscle Researchers and others,
Because of COVID-19, the next Munich Muscle Meeting will again be a Zoom meeting. Whilst this is disappointing, we are absolutely delighted to announce that Prof. Dr. Stefano Schiaffino will be the main speaker on “Fiber types in skeletal muscle: from antiomyosin antibodies to single fiber proteomics”. His talk will include a brief historical retrospective and then move to the perspectives opened by novel approaches, such as single fiber proteomics and single myonuclei RNA-seq. Stefano Schiaffino is a legend in muscle research with many stand out findings especially in relation to the characterization of muscle fibres as well as mechanisms of muscle adaptation to exercise. He is now an emeritus Professor at the Venetian Institute of Molecular Medicine of the University of Padova (Italy) but a very research-active emeritus Professor as his talk will show!
In addition to the talk by Prof. Schiaffino, we have three further speakers. The program flyer you will find here. Also, we aim to produce a Munich Muscle Meeting newsletter. To subscribe please send an e-mail to munich-muscle-meeting(at)sg.tum.de.
Best wishes,
Martin Schönfelder & Henning Wackerhage
Because of COVID-19 we were forced to switch to an online meeting which will take place on the 30.6. from 16.30-18.00 h German time (so 15.30-17.00 h UK time). Each talk will be 30 min plus up to 15 min discussion.
Because it is online, we were able to recruit two speakers from further afield. Our first speaker is Prof Pete Zammit of King’s College London. He will talk on "Muscle stem cells and regeneration in muscular dystrophy". The seconf talk will be hold by PD Dr. Simone Hettmer (Universität Freiburg). She will present us the cellular and molecular underpinnings of rhabdomyosarcoma and show us recent insights, new perspectives, and clinical implications of this disease.
If you are interested to participate in this virtual meeting, please send an email to Martin Schönfelder (martin.schoenfelder@tum.de)
