The Statutory Regulations of the TUM-GS and the Regulations of the FGZ-SG require participation in a mandatory, comprehensive subject-specific qualification program. For doctoral candidates at the FGZ-SG, the program consists of participating in 10 colloquia for doctoral candidates, presenting their own project at a colloquium, as well as an elective program for a total of 70 credits. The elective program includes workshops, symposia and other events offered by the FGZ (e.g. Winter Academy, Editor Series) as well as colloquiums and events hosted by the chairs and the department. One "credit" usually corresponds to one unit of instruction.
