Florence Tesha | M.Sc. Health Science
“Part of the excitement of studying at TUM is the unique vibrancy and intertwinement between the university and the beautiful city of Munich and its culture.”
I am first-year master’s student at TUM in the Health Science – Prevention and Promotion program. Prior to TUM, I worked as the Managing Director of Redavia Tanzania Assets (under Redavia GmbH), a solar renewable energy company that installed electricity for more than 500 households in Tanzania, my home country. During my time at Redavia, I split my time between Dar es Salaam and Munich where I came across TUM through alumni students who were colleagues. After visiting the campus and exploring the study programs offered, the M.Sc. Health Science program stood out because it aligns with Global Health, which was one of my undergraduate majors at Duke University. Part of the excitement of studying at TUM is the unique vibrancy and intertwinement between the university and the beautiful city of Munich and its culture. The Covid-19 pandemic has hindered this experience, but there is hope and there have been lessons. The biggest lesson for me has been to experience first-hand the importance and application of health science and this has given my studies meaning and purpose. Once campus is open, I look forward to engaging with teachers and students but what I am really excited about is to visit the TUM coffee shop at the rooftop with my friends and take in the views of the city to the horizons-simply spectacular.
