Hebatullah Abdulazeem | M.Sc. Health Science
"Via Cochrane organization/Via Cochrane Taskexchange, I’ve succeeded in participating in more than twenty systematic reviews, of which fifteen have been already published."
Hebatullah Abdulazeem works as a family physician and a health scientist. She studied medicine in Egypt and worked in primary and secondary health care facilities for almost four years. During these years of work, her interest in disease prevention and health promotion increased. Since March 2018, she worked voluntarily in the field of medical research through the Cochrane organization. She succeeded in participating in more than twenty systematic reviews, of which fifteen have been already published. Most of her work is related to noncommunicable diseases. Recently, she has worked on many projects related to the new COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, via the Cochrane Crowd, she classified more than 25,000 studies based on their titles and abstracts to the appropriate study design. As a result of her work, she received a Cochrane membership for five-years. To upgrade her personal experience to a professional academic one, she chose to be a student in the Health Science Master’s program. The first semester started with many challenges; however subsequent semesters had additional challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from the stress and difficulties in time management, many advantages were revealed. More online courses via TUM and other platforms were available to attend. Yet, meeting professors and colleagues in person is a precious value that was missed.
